What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is more than just micro-needling. It combines the use of micro-needles with radiofrequency technology for more powerful and effective results. Radiofrequency energy penetrates deep layers of the skin, improving texture, tone, and firmness.
This non-invasive skin tightening method was created by the Israeli company INMODE Aesthetic Solution. It can be applied on the face, neck, abdomen, arms, thighs, and buttocks.
How Does It Work?
During the procedure, small needles create micro-injuries in the skin, and their depth can be adjusted (from 0.5 mm to 8 mm) based on each patient’s needs. Tissues are heated to temperatures ranging from 30 to 60 degrees Celsius (85 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) precisely at the needle tips. They transmit thermal energy to the deep layers of the skin – the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous adipose tissue. The device can work with all layers or selectively on specific areas of the face and body.
After the procedure, the natural healing process of the damaged skin is initiated, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. In other words, micro-injuries and heat at a depth promote the production of important proteins that contribute to skin rejuvenation.
- Wrinkles, fine lines.
- Acne scars, stretch marks.
- Uneven tone, pigmentation.
- Sagging, loose skin.
- Enlarged pores.
- Excess fat deposits.
- Rough, uneven texture.
The cosmetologist applies the attachment to the skin, letting the needles penetrate your skin. Then, the process is repeated in adjacent areas.
Advantages of the Morpheus8 Procedure
A non-surgical alternative to facelifts. Effective skin rejuvenation without surgery, general anesthesia, or visible scars. The micro-needles gently penetrate the skin, creating micro-injuries and delivering radiofrequency energy to the deep layers.
Collagen stimulation. The key mechanism of the rejuvenating action of the procedure. Controlled tissue heating stimulates the growth of cells responsible for collagen and elastin production. This gives the skin firmness, a youthful appearance, and maintains its healthy condition.
Impressive results. The effect is noticeable after the first session and continues to improve over several months as new collagen takes time to fully develop. It tightens and firms the skin, smoothes wrinkles, improves texture and facial contours – significantly reducing visible signs of aging.
Morpheus8 is a safe technology. Needle penetration depth, intensity, and number of sessions are all individually tailored to each patient. It is suitable for most skin types and tones. A disposable micro-needle attachment is used for each session.
How long does the result last after the procedure?
The effect of Morpheus8 can last from 6 months to 1 year and longer with proper skin care and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle. The collagen stimulation process occurs gradually after the session. Initially, minor improvements are noticeable. The optimal result becomes evident after several months when the new collagen is fully formed. A follow-up course is recommended after 1-2 years.
You will see significant changes after your Morpheus8 procedure at Solea Brickell Spa, including:
- Skin rejuvenation – firmer, smoother, tightened, and glowing.
- Reduction of wrinkles and fine lines (on the forehead, under the eyes, nasolabial folds, and chin area).
- Pore tightening and even skin texture.
- Reduction of pigmentation spots and improved facial color.
- Elimination of facial stretch marks, dark circles, and under-eye puffiness.
- Treatment of acne and removal of acne scars.
Morpheus8: Side Effects
Temporary side effects: After thermal microneedling, redness, pinpoint bruising, and swelling may occur in the treated area. These symptoms usually subside within 4-5 days. If you’re concerned about appearing in public with these effects, it’s best to schedule your session on a Friday after work, so by Monday, your skin will have mostly recovered, and you can resume daily activities.
The need for additional post-procedure care: Special care is required for the skin as it becomes more sensitive after the treatment. This includes the use of sunscreen, moisturizers, and soothing products. Additional effort and expenses may be required.
Slight discomfort during the session: Some individuals may experience mild tingling or warmth in the area where the micro-needles penetrate. However, in most cases, Morpheus8 is well-tolerated. Before the procedure ( 60 minutes before), the cosmetologist applies a numbing gel to the treated area, ensuring the client’s comfort and minimal discomfort.
Presence of contraindications: It may not be suitable for certain individuals, such as pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with a cardiac pacemaker, weakened immune systems, or active skin conditions.
The cost of the treatment and skin recovery depends on the location and size of the treated area, as well as the number of sessions. Complete information can be obtained during the initial consultation. Our qualified cosmetologist will assess your specific needs and develop a rejuvenation plan for you. How long does a Morpheus8 session last?
The duration of the session depends on the treated area, typically taking 30 to 60 minutes on average. Time is needed for preparation, including skin cleansing and application of local anesthesia. In addition to the procedure itself, extra time is required for applying moisturizing and soothing creams. Before the rejuvenation, it is recommended not to apply lotions, cosmetics, or perfumes on the body/face.
How many sessions are required?
The number of sessions depends on individual needs and goals. Dermatologists usually recommend 1-3 procedures with a 4-6 week interval. This approach allows for gradual skin improvement and ample time for the formation of new collagen. The exact number of visits will be determined by the cosmetologist individually.
Is there any recovery required after non-surgical skin tightening?
Typically, several days of recovery are needed after the session. Mild swelling, redness like due to the healing of micro-punctures are normal reactions. To enhance and expedite the skin’s recovery process, it is recommended to:
- Moisturize the treated area and apply sunscreen with high SPF.
- Avoid direct sunlight and intense physical activity (which may cause excessive sweating or mechanical irritation).
- Avoid saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, and prolonged water immersion of the treated area.
- Avoid using harsh or abrasive cleansing agents (which may lead to scarring).
- Refrain from touching the treated area with hands or other objects to prevent infection or irritation.
- Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for the first couple of days.
What other procedures can Morpheus8 be combined with?
Morpheus8 can be combined with other skin rejuvenation procedures to enhance results. In Solea we recommend combining it with PRP (platelet-rich plasma), and follow up with Botox/ Sculptra or Fillers and microneedling. It is advisable to discuss your goals and expectations with the cosmetologist, who will recommend the most suitable procedures to combine with Morpheus8.
